New Vermeer reclaimer

New Vermeer reclaimer

Vermeer has introduced a new product to its pipeline installation equipment line. The R400T joins the R9x12T reclaimer as a self-contained drilling fluid reclaiming system. The R400T was designed for the growing demands of underground projects — whether in congested, urban utility work or large pipeline installation — while minimizing the impact on the surrounding environment. Reclaiming drilling fluid is becoming more standard in HDD applications because of the expense of hauling and disposing of drilling fluid.

“The reality is right-of-ways are shrinking and contractors need to maintain a small footprint, especially when working in town,” said Jon Heinen, Vermeer pipeline business segment manager. “Not only that, but fluid disposal is increasingly expensive. Vermeer has provided a reclaiming system designed for these applications so that contractors can stay efficient and productive, reduce operating costs, yet be a good steward of the environment.” The R400T will be available mid-spring 2014, initially in regions where ultra-low sulphur diesel is available.
