Radius HDD and American Augers, both Charles Machine Works Companies, have announced a partnership that will allow Radius HDD to warehouse American Augers sections and cutter heads in its Weatherford, Texas, facility. The move is in response to the tremendous amount of underground construction work being done in the Lone Star State.
"The majority of the nation's largest rigs are operating in Texas," said David Hammond, president of American Augers in West Salem, Ohio. "By keeping these parts in stock locally at Radius, we can now better service this market with same-day delivery."
The sections and cutter heads will also be available for customer pickup at Radius, noted Riff Wright, co-founder and president of Radius. "Our company was founded on the idea of serving HDD operators better. This agreement allows us to keep crews up and running with quicker delivery or will-call pickup if that's more convenient for them."
Contractors using American Auger equipment, or any other boring unit, will also find same-day repair service at Radius, along with a variety of rental tooling.
Customers will still be able to buy direct from the American Augers sales team. The new partnership simply expands their options, allowing them to also purchase from the Radius Sales team at same price and have same-day delivery.
"American Augers provides a superior product," said Wright. "Between their quality and our proximity, knowledge and support, Texas contractors will benefit greatly from this partnership.
