Economical solution to reducing stormwater litter

Economical solution to reducing stormwater litter

As municipalities everywhere address litter in their total maximum daily load, they seek proven methods that will capture the debris with the least amount of daily assistance and maintenance. StormX is a powerful and economical solution that will stop the flow of both floatable and non-floatable trash and debris as small as 5 mm in size. StormX is constructed of stainless steel hubs anchored into concrete for a weir configuration or secured directly to concrete or steel pipe outfalls with reusable commercial grade nets. Trash and debris flows with stormwater runoff into the system where the nets capture the trash and allow the water to continue to flow unimpeded. The construction of StormX allows for the weirs and nets to assist with sediment fallout and collection without flooding.

Easily capture trash and debris from outfall lines

Easily capture trash and debris from outfall lines

The StormX full capture netting system by Storm Water Systems turns outfall lines and the ends of pipes into the end of the road for trash, litter and debris that finds its way into stormwater runoff.
Storm Water Systems added the system as a tool in the company’s arsenal against North America’s trash-filled waterways because of its powerful hub and net design coupled with a high success rate (zero failures in Australia for more than 15 years). The system’s built-in overflow mechanisms allow for heavy runoff to flow unimpeded during a heavy rain event.
The StormX system is available in a variety of standard sizes ranging from 18 to 60 inches in diameter and can be custom fabricated for most pipes when needed. Regular maintenance is readily accessible with reusable nets that are easily detached and emptied manually, or with mechanical assistance using standard public works equipment.
